Opened in 2024 by chef and owner Rene Boyzo and partner Ari Cahy in the thriving Lincoln Mill district, Salt Smokehouse became one of Huntsville's most celebrated restaurants almost immediately — and now its most decorated. One of only 15 Alabama restaurants named to the inaugural 2025 Michelin Guide to the American South, this family-owned spot operates with a deliberately Spartan aesthetic (high ceilings, white walls, ample seating) that lets the food carry all the personality. The kitchen blends traditional low-and-slow wood fire barbecue with bold global flavors — bao sliders and brisket fritters share a menu with overnight-smoked prime brisket and ginger serrano coleslaw. Reservations accepted and strongly recommended. No alcohol.

Downtown Huntsville's premier fine dining destination and its other Michelin-recognized gem. Chef Juventino Manuel leads the kitchen, drawing on his Mexican heritage and training in Asian kitchens to produce a globally influenced, seasonally rotating menu. The restaurant is owned by husband-and-wife team Stephanie and Matt Mell (Church Street Family), who opened it in 2017 with a vision to bring world-class dining to the Rocket City. Corporate Executive Chef Luis Branez was named Alabama Chef of the Year in 2024. Designed as a three-course dining experience — expect beautifully crafted dishes, exclusive wines and bourbons not found elsewhere in Alabama, and attentive service. Reservations required; cancellation fee applies.

You walk in our building and you become a part of us. You're not just a diner. We're just a humble place that serves good food — and the fact that that's recognized at that level is going to open doors for the South to see that Huntsville has places that are worth the drive.

A true Huntsville original. Started in May 2013 by Stan Stinson and Tina Ford as a mobile pizza vendor at the Greene Street Farmer's Market, Earth and Stone won the national pizza food truck of the year award in 2014 before opening their brick-and-mortar home at Campus 805 alongside Yellowhammer Brewing. The wood-fired oven produces a subtly smoky, exceptionally crisp crust using fresh, made-from-scratch dough and locally sourced ingredients including Humble Heart Farms goat cheese. Menu also includes sandwiches on fresh-baked bread, calzones, salads, and an adult ice cream program. Gluten-free cauliflower crust available. Note: the former Madison location has permanently closed — Campus 805 is the place to go.
